Booking:
If it is at all possible, we strongly urge you to book weekday
trips. There are significantly fewer people on the water, which
provides more options and usually better fishing. You may book
your trip by phone or e-mail. Since we do spend most of our
days on the water, it may be evening or the next day before
we get back with you, so please leave the appropriate information
on your message. We require a 50% deposit to reserve your date,
and that can be made with a check or money order. We hope to
be accepting all major credit cards in the near future. While
we try to ask, please try to inform us of any dietary restrictions
you may have.
What To Bring:
All guided trips include use of flies, leaders, and tippet. You
are encouraged to bring your own rods and waders should you
have them, but we can provide them if you don’t. Typically
7 ½’ to 8 ½’ rods from 3 to 5 weight
are appropriate for the mountain streams, while 9’ rods
from 4 to 6 weight are best suited for float trips. From May
through early October, waders are not necessary in the mountain
streams, just felt soled boots and shorts. During the cooler
months, we recommend wearing breathable waders and layering
accordingly underneath. On float trips, the tailwaters are
always cold, regardless of air temperature. River shoes are
fine for just getting in and out of the boat, but waders are
strongly recommended if you plan to spend any substantial time
wading. You will also need to purchase a valid fishing license
appropriate for the destination. We can sometimes stop on the
way for the license or they can be purchased online ahead of
time. We will advise you what to get at time of booking.
While we try to keep extras of the following, we encourage you
to bring your own raingear, sunscreen, and polarized sunglasses.
Drab, earth tone colored clothing is strongly recommended for
fishing the mountains. Otherwise, just dress appropriately for
the weather. Items to bring on overnight trips will be discussed
on a per trip basis.
Cancellation Policy: We are a small business and cancellations
affect us greatly. If you cancel your trip with less than five
days notice, you will lose your deposit. Trips cancelled before
that time will receive a full refund. We fish in the rain and
we fish in the cold. So, the only time we will cancel your trip
is if there are extreme conditions that would completely shut
down the fishing or would pose a safety threat to you. In these
situations, we will make every effort to re-book your trip the
next day.
Rules and Regulations: For safety and service reasons, we will
not take more than two anglers per guide and we will not take
any children under the age of ten. We also reserve the right
to prohibit certain individuals from going to certain destinations
if we believe it to be a safety hazard. All local laws and regulations
must be observed and alcohol is not permitted during any fishing
trip.
